The patina of this piece is sealed with renaissance wax. However, like all metals copper will naturally darken with time, to keep your jewellery looking bright avoid contact with perfumes and other harsh chemicals and try to keep it from getting wet for long periods of time. You can scrub the areas you would like to keep shiny with salt and lemon or use a polishing cloth.
